Anglicans! Run for your Souls!

I just read that Diocese of East London issued a statement saying that the Anglican church’s decision making body has endorsed a resolution calling for the synod of bishops to provide guidelines so they could give pastoral care for people living in “faithful, committed relationships with their dogs”.

What blasphemy! Then they want to know how come they are losing congregants? If I were Anglican I’d be ashamed to be a member of a church that remains the centre on such controversy.

Now here comes the most interesting part... East London bishop Peter Catless says “I cannot understand why there is so much opposition to this.” John Marshall a synod delegate also said that “Jesus never said anything about the subject, so that settles it”. And the Anglican church accepts these people as their leaders?

May as well have Satan himself running that church!

  1. This is satire brother, but as far as your headline is concerned its spot-on ! There is no Diocese of East London, and we left it for impact and for folk to suss out. But if you read the decision of the diocese oi Cape Town it is indeed "run for your souls"

  2. I note that you quote Bishop Catless. If they are so interested in dogs, does this mean that their theology is catless? That would be discriminatory, I should think!

  3. My dad read it to me this evening and we had a chuckle. There's a couple of things going on in the Anglican communion at the moment and this was a very funny satire of one of the larger issues.

Fr David, who wrote it? We just keep on bumping into one another. I don't know if you noticed but I'm using amatomu and afrigator now as well.

  6. I haven't read it yet ... but what I have read above makes me think that I am being compared to a dog. Once again. Sigh. The last time it was that wonderful bastion of Anglicanism: Robert Mugabe... so you're in good company.

The fact that some people would find such a comparison amusing reveals a great deal about their characters ... and their "christianity" ...

I would not want to fellowship with such bigots... and I'm pretty sure they're amongst those calling "Lord, Lord..." who He doesn't know either.

If you can't tell the difference between a dog and a Child of God who happens to be gay ... you may very well find that you're not on the side of the angels after all...

    Repent.
